Between Mother And Son
This is a very sensitive moment between the infant Jesus who seems to know what life has in store for him, and his mother Mary, who is just happy for the moment to be able to have him to love and raise for 20 years or so.The woods in the background are foreboding, and foreshadowing. The Christ, as a young toddler, is showing fear and distrust of strangers, and is seeking the safety of his mother's arms. He offers her a flower.
