The Mother Mary has just witnessed the brutal torture and crucifixion death of her son. She could do nothing to save him. He was born for this moment. She is so drained that she can make no sound nor even keep her mouth closed, as her eyes still continue to produce tears while she replays her son's last hours on earth. He is lost to her.
